Baku, November 6, AZERTAC
“Azerbaijan-China relations have great potential and have continued to develop steadily this year under the strategic guidance of the leaders of the two countries. Government institutions and relevant agencies are working closely to implement the important agreements reached by the heads of state. This is contributing to the further development of bilateral relations and the achievement of new results,” said Lu Mei, China’s Ambassador to Azerbaijan, at a briefing held in Baku on November 6.
According to her, the two countries have maintained high-level contacts since the beginning of this year. Several Azerbaijani officials, including Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov, Speaker of the Milli Majlis Sahiba Gafarova, and Deputy Prime Minister Shahin Mustafayev, have visited China to discuss the implementation of agreements reached by the leaders of the two countries.
The diplomat also highlighted the visit to Azerbaijan by Wang Yi, member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and Minister of Foreign Affairs, on the sidelines of the 7th Summit of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICA), held in Baku. She noted that his meetings with President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov had contributed significantly to strengthening bilateral ties.
Lu Mei expressed her gratitude to Azerbaijan for its longstanding and strong political support, adding that China would continue to support Azerbaijan's sovereignty and territorial integrity.
