Azerbaijan's Independence Day marked in Oslo

An official ceremony marking the upcoming Independence Day of Azerbaijan was held at the Konserthus Concert Hall in Oslo, the capital of Norway.
The event, organized by the Embassy of Azerbaijan in the Kingdom of Sweden, brought together representatives from Norwegian government institutions, representatives of the diplomatic corps accredited in Oslo, Azerbaijani compatriots living in the country, as well as members of the local community.
Addressing the ceremony, Ambassador Zaur Ahmadov highlighted the historical significance of the establishment of the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic, the country's path to independence, the regional peace agenda, and Azerbaijan's contributions to international cooperation.
Zaur Ahmadov emphasized Azerbaijan's successful hosting of COP29, the 13th Session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13) to be held in Baku, the country's role as a reliable energy partner of Europe, as well as its growing importance of the Middle Corridor connecting the East and the West.
Following the official part of the event, a concert program of a jazz quartet led by renowned musicians Tural Rafael and Alafsar Rahimov was presented.
The performances combining elements of the national music of Azerbaijani jazz with modern improvisational traditions were met with great interest and applause from guests.
The event ended with a banquet.
