Azerbaijan Air Force Commander visits Türkiye

Azerbaijan’s Deputy Minister of Defense and Commander of the Air Force, Lieutenant General Namig Islamzade, is on an official visit to Türkiye, the Ministry of Defense told AZERTAC.
As part of the visit, Lieutenant General Islamzade attended a number of events held within the framework of the “Anatolian Eagle-2026” international tactical flight exercise and met with participating personnel.
Colonel Zaur Mammadov, head of the Azerbaijani delegation, briefed the Air Force Commander on the progress of the exercise and the tasks assigned to the personnel.
The Deputy Minister highly commended the professionalism demonstrated by the personnel participating in the exercise.
Lieutenant General Namig Islamzade also met with Commander of the Turkish Air Force, Army General Ziya Cemal Kadıoğlu.
During the meeting, the sides discussed the current state and future prospects of bilateral cooperation in the field of military aviation. They also underscored the importance of joint exercises and the value of exchanging experience.
Following an aerial observation of the exercise activities, the commanders of the air forces of both countries visited an exhibition organized within the framework of the exercise, where they viewed displays of military equipment and weaponry.
