AZERBAIJAN-AUSTRIA: MORE POTENTIAL FOR ECONOMIC COOPERATION
On October 17, correspondent of AZERTAC has taken short interview from the head of delegation of official representatives and businessmen of Austria now visiting Azerbaijan, the special representative of the Ministry of Economics of this country, ambassador France Cheshka. F. Cheshka has told: “At the joint business forum, we have received enough information on economy of Azerbaijan. And acquaintance with the exhibition opened in the Baku Business Center has increased interest to your country even more. Austria is well-known all over the world in the field of the various equipment, including demolition and restoration of buildings, radio, TV, theatre, the equipment on manufacture of paper, manufacture of transmitting installations. We hold one of the first places in the paper industry. The structure of our delegation also includes representatives of the food-processing industry, manufacturers of various minerals. The volume of export on the listed branches the last year has made 19 billion Euros. If to add to this consulting and other financing, the figures will reach35 billion.
Successes of the oil and gas industry of Azerbaijan are well known. Azerbaijan having the important geo-strategic position in region possesses high parameters in this field. By the way, Austria will use also the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan oil pipeline. Unfortunately, our links till last year were not satisfactory. The potential for expansion of the Azerbaijani-Austrian economic cooperation is great, and it is necessary for us to take advantage of it effectively”, he underlined.
