AZERBAIJAN CHESS PLAYERS STARTED SUCCESSFULLY AT EUROPE MEN’S CHAMP
Successfully started the men team of Azerbaijan at the European Chess Championship, which commenced in the Bulgarian city of Plovdiv on 11 October. Azerbaijani nationals defeated the Scotland team with a score 3:1, press service of the ministry of youth, sports and tourism of Azerbaijan said. Teymur Rajabov and Shariyar Mammadyarov won their matches, while Gadir Huseynov and Rasul Ibrahimov gained draw.
Azerbaijani chess players, sisters Zeynab and Turkan Mammadyarovs, played in draw with their Ukrainian playmates.
In the second round, Azerbaijani men will meet with Swiss, while the women with Germans.
