Azerbaijan to double gas exports to Syria
Baku, January 4 (AZERTAC). Azerbaijan intends to double its deliveries of gas to Syria, said head of the country`s state oil company (SOCAR), Rovnag Abdullayev. Abdullayev said that beginning from 2012 his country would export 1 billion cubic meters of gas per year to Syria.
“And from 2015 we plan to double this volume to 2 billion cubic meters per year.”
The SOCAR chief said: “We are currently discussing this issue with BOTAS, including technical aspects and tariffs for transporting Azeri oil through Turkey. Work along these lines will be continued next year, so that we can begin exporting Azeri gas to Syria in 2012."
