Azerbaijan to pin hopes on 122 athletes at European Youth Olympics Festival

A total of 122 Azerbaijani athletes will vie for medals at the European Youth Olympics Festival to be held in Baku from July 21-27, director of Sports department of Azerbaijan`s National Olympic Committee Hasanaga Rzayev said.
According to Rzayev, the festival will feature 3,900 athletes from 48 countries who will contest 135 sets of medals.
He said athletes will compete in 10 sports, including gymnastics, athletics, basketball, cycling, handball, judo, swimming, tennis, volleyball and wrestling. Over 2,500 volunteers will operate at 12 sports facilities throughout the festival, he added.
