Azerbaijan, Türkiye sign Cooperation Agreement on Energy Efficiency in Buildings

As part of the 13th World Urban Forum (WUF13) held in Baku, Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Energy and Türkiye’s Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change signed a Memorandum of Understanding on Technical Cooperation in Building Energy Efficiency.
The document was inked by Azerbaijan’s Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov and Turkish Minister of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change Murat Kurum.
Prior to the signing ceremony, a meeting took place between Minister Parviz Shahbazov and Türkiye’s Minister of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change and President of COP31 Murat Kurum.
Minister Parviz Shahbazov hailed Türkiye’s rich experience in the field of energy. The minister also highlighted the measures being implemented by Azerbaijan in the field of energy efficiency, including the activities of the Energy Efficiency Fund.
Turkish Minister Murat Kurum emphasized that the close ties of friendship between Azerbaijani and Turkish Presidents contribute to enhancing bilateral relations between the two countries.
Mukhtar Babayev, Representative of the President of Azerbaijan for Climate Issues, said that Azerbaijan and Türkiye are actively collaborating in preparation for COP31.
During the discussions, it was emphasized that relations between Azerbaijan and Türkiye continue to develop successfully across all sectors, driven by the brotherhood and strong political will of the leaders of both countries.
