AZERBAIJAN UNDER 20 CHESS PLAYERS RATED AS BEST
In the April 1 rating list issued by FIDE, Azerbaijani chess players strengthened their positions. After successful performance at the Linares tournament Teymur Rajabov gained 14 points to 2670 and forged ahead four steps. The other young chess player Shahriyar Mammadyarov, due to his brilliant performance at the “Aeroflot” tournament, increased his score to 2657 and went up to 40th place.
The FIDE also issued a list of 20 young players under 20 in which Teymur and Shahriyar ranked 1st and 2nd.
Two Azerbaijani players Vugar Hashimov and Farhad Tahirov were also included
