Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan enhance cooperation in football

AFFA officials paid a working visit to Uzbekistan.
The delegation included AFFA Secretary General’s Advisor Orkhan Hasanov, Chairman of the Referees Committee Rahim Hasanov, Head of the Referees Department Bahruz Teymurov, and Head of the Information Technology and Digitalization Department Rahim Balakishiyev.
The AFFA delegation visited local football infrastructure and facilities and met with experts from various fields to exchange views.
As part of the visit, First Vice-President of the Uzbekistan Football Association Ravshan Irmatov met with the Azerbaijani delegation to discuss cooperation. The sides explored opportunities for exchanging experience and launching joint initiatives in football development, with a particular focus on refereeing, youth referee training, and improving professional standards.
The discussions also focused on the digital transformation of football, the implementation of modern IT solutions, data management systems, and the development of youth and grassroots football.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the parties agreed to further strengthen cooperation and implement joint projects in the future.
