AZERBAIJANI GYMNAST TO LEAVE FOR MOSCOW
Azerbaijani athlete Ruslan Guliyev is going to participate - together with his rivals from Georgia, Latvia, Lithuania, Ukraine, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kirghizstan, Uzbekistan and Moldova - in the open Russian men’s artistic gymnastic championship to be held in Moscow on June 12 - 15. The competition will be held according to the schedule of the coming Athens Games.
Besides, in the framework of the tournament, a meeting of gymnastics federation heads of CIS and Baltic states is expected. Azerbaijan will be represent here by federation secretary Chingiz Shamilov. The meeting participants will discuss issues related to the Olympic games in Greece, and pre-election 75th Congress of the International Gymnastics Federation (FIG) expected in Antalya, Turkey on 21-23 October 2004.
