Azerbaijani judokas finish European Cup with 9 medals

The Prague Junior European Cup 2026 has concluded successfully for the Azerbaijan national team.
The team added 8 medals to its tally on the second day of the competition.
Mehdi Abbasov (81 kg) and Ramazan Ahmadov (+100 kg) won gold medals by defeating all their opponents. Jeyhun Ibadli (81 kg), Janpolad Aliyev (100 kg), and Nargiz Ahmadova (48 kg) took silver medals. Suleyman Shukurov (90 kg), Davud Namazli (100 kg), and Khadija Gadasheva (57 kg) won bronze medals.
On the first day of the competition, Abil Yusubov (73 kg) won a silver medal.
Thus, the Azerbaijani team completed the Prague European Cup with a total of 9 medals: 2 gold, 4 silver, and 3 bronze. Based on the final results, the team finished third in the overall team standings among 33 countries and first in the boys’ competition.
