Azerbaijani, Latvian defense ministers discuss expansion of military cooperation
Baku, August 7 (AZERTAC). Azerbaijani Defence Minister Zakir Hasanov has today met Latvian counterpart Raimonds Vejonis to discuss how to broaden the bilateral cooperation in the military area.
Minister Hasanov highlighted the situation on the line of contact, saying the Armenian armed forces have violated ceasefire and carried out several acts of sabotage. The Minister said Armenia was a real threat to regional stability. He noted the importance of settling the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict in compliance with international law and resolutions of the UN Security Council.
Minister Vejonis said Azerbaijan was an important partner for Latvia in Europe.
