Baku hosts 26th Afgan Safarov's International Athletics Memorial

The 26th Afgan Safarov International Athletics Memorial has kicked off in Baku, Azerbaijan from June 9 to 10.
Co-organized by the World Athletics and Azerbaijan Athletics Federation, with the support of the Azerbaijan`s Ministry of Youth and Sports, the two-day competition brought together a total of 120 athletes from Azerbaijan, Türkiye, Georgia, Kyrgyzstan and Oman.
The winners of Day 1 has been already determined. Thus, the golds were taken by Georgian Mindia Endeladze and Azerbaijani Ilaha Guliyeva in the male`s and female`s 100-meter run event, as well as Turkish Oghuz Akgul and Azerbaijani Valiyeva Lamiya in the male`s and female`s 400-meter run event, Azerbaijani Naghiyev Amrah in the male`s 1500m run event, Turkish Mesut Bulbul and Gizem Akgoz in the male`s and female`s triple jump event and Turkish Nuh Polat in the male`s shot discipline, respectively.
