The 9th International Health Exhibition BIHE-2003 is to be held in the entertainment center in Baku between September 17 and 19.

This event is fully supported by the Ministry of Health and Chamber of Industry and Commerce of Azerbaijan, AzerTAj was informed in representation of the main organizer of the exhibition, ITECA Caspian Ltd. Company.

Tens of producers and distributors from Turkey, Iran, Central Asia have expressed their wish to take part in the exhibition. A wide choice of the recent achievements in the field of pharmacology, medical equipment, optics, diagnostics and cosmetology will be displayed at the exhibition.

Expenditures of the state budget for public health in 2003 will make up almost 85 million dollars, 45 million out of which are allocated to purchase of medical equipment, different materials, medical preparations and services.

The volume of pharmaceutical market of Azerbaijan is growing, this year it makes up about 120 million US dollars. Production of East European, US, Russian, Turkish, Indian and other producers - big exporters of pharmaceutical output prevails at the market.

At the same time, both international financial organizations (World Bank, UNICEF and othera) and banks (Deutsch Bank) as well as different countries give credits and grants for financing the projects in public health, in particular, on construction, reconstruction and equipment of hospitals, clinics, etc.

The project on construction and equipment of the Central Clinic Hospital (more than 28 million US dollars) or the project of re-equipment of the Ophtalmological center into a multi-profile hospital (60-70 million USA dollars) is good examples of these activities.

The exhibition will be attended by over 12 000 qualified visitors from Azerbaijan, Georgia, Daghestan, Central Asia, Russia, Turkey and Iran.
