BILATERAL SPORTS COOPERATION TO WIDEN
The issues of expansion of bilateral cooperation were discussed during the meeting between the Ministry of Youth, Sports and Tourism of Azerbaijan in the person of Minister Abulfaz Garayev and the delegation of the General Directorate of Youth and Sports of Turkey. Minister Abulfaz Garayev spoke of the intensive development of sports in Azerbaijan and upcoming international competitions scheduled for the current year. A. Garayev pointed out to successful performances of the Turkish team at the Olympic Volleyball License tournament that takes place in Baku. “Azerbaijani fans actively support the Turkish volleyball players”, Minister said.
Head of delegation Mehmet Atalay extended condolences to the people of Azerbaijan on the death of nationwide leader, President Heydar Aliyev and express hope that Azerbaijani democratic state founded by him will further prosper and strengthen.
The possibility of joint trainings of Azerbaijani and Turkish athletes on the threshold of the Olympic games, exchange of experience in different sports including soccer.
