BP ORGANIZES FOOTBALL TOURNAMENT
A football tournament organized by BP-Azerbaijan in the framework of the Sangachal Terminal Enlargement Program /STEP/ started on 18 June among the teams of 23 secondary schools of 11 populated areas of Garadagh region. The teams have been divided into three age groups - under 12, 14 and 16.
Semifinal and final matches will be played on 20 June at the Olympic complex in the village of Lokbatan, and followed by an awarding ceremony. This competition is sponsored by a number of foreign companies.
According the STEP Director Jacobus Niewenhuijze, the tournament will crate opportunities for all the children of the region meet each other, play games and support their friends. He described the competition as the largest football event organized among schoolchildren before in the Caspian region.
