BUNDESTAG DELEGATION VISITING IDP’s ENCAMPMENTS

On July 20, delegation of the Economic Cooperation and Development Committee of Bundestag visited the IDPs encampment “Shahriyar” in Sabirabad province of Azerbaijan.

The guests were updated with the plight of IDPs and their living conditions.

The “Shahriyar” encampment was built by German specialists in 1994 under the sponsorship of the Government of Germany. And since, the inhabitants have called this camp as a “small Hamburg”.

Later on, the delegation familiarized with the secondary and musical schools as well as the medical post in the camp.

On the same day, the guests familiarized with the project on restoration of water supply of Imishli town of Azerbaijan realized by the Azerbaijan-Germany Ltd Association. Head of the Executive organization, chairman of the state committee on construction and architecture Shair Hasanov reported that 15 billion manats had already been spent for realization of the project, thus, supplying 1600 cubic meters of water per day or 50 liters per capita.
