Greeting the guest, Artur Rasizade noted that success of the meetings evidence that the sides strive to understanding and cooperation, and this session would serve certain contributions in strengthening and further development of all-faceted and mutually beneficial ties between the two countries.
The basic document, determining perspective development of economic relations between the countries, is the Agreement between Azerbaijan Republic and Russian Federation on long-term economic co-op for the period up to 2010, the Premier said. Realization of actions, envisaged in this document, enabled in 2002 to bring goods turnover between the Russian Federation and Azerbaijan Republic up to 376, 6 million USD, which is by 1,6 times higher than the 2001. The said tendency was held up in current year. Thus, in 9 months of current year volume of goods turnover made up 349,5 million USD, which is by 1,4 times more than the previous year.
Expressing his gratitude for warm reception, deputy chairman of the RF Government Victor Christenko noted that the Regulations of the Protocol of seventh session of the commission, mainly is successfully implemented.
In the past period, the sides have done certain work on expansion of the bilateral trade-economic cooperation. Economic subjects of the Russian Federation and Azerbaijan Republic conduct arrangements on development of direct links, expansion and deepening of production cooperation. In accordance with the signed agreement, concrete projects are being realized and the process of strengthening of the cultural ties is going ahead.
At the reception, participating was the First Deputy Prime Minister of Azerbaijan Abbas Abbasov, ambassador of Azerbaijan to Russia Ramiz Rzayev, and ambassador of Russia to Azerbaijan Nikolay Ryabov.
