CEC SITTING OVERVIEW

A sitting of the Central Election Commission presided by Mazahir Panahov took place on October 27. Having updated the Commission members on termination of the authorities of Ilham Heydar oglu Aliyey as the Milli Majlis deputy, the Chairman noted that after appointment as Prime Minister of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Mr. Ilham Heydar oglu Aliyev has applied to the Central Election Commission for termination of his deputy authorities that was approved by the Commission.

Then, CEC’s Secretary Ingilab Nasirov updated the Commission members on confirmation of Asif Agalar oglu Imamaliyev as deputy of the Milli Majlis following by Ilham Aliyev in the single list of the candidates for Yeni Azerbaijan Party instead of deputy who is out of the list and granting him a deputy mandate. The CEC members made a positive decision in this respect.

The hard work of CEC members in connection with the organization of Presidential elections was taken into consideration and it was decided to reward the Commission members.

The CEC sitting was attended by representatives of the National Institute of Democracy, International Fund for Electoral Systems, embassy of Japan, local and foreign media.
