CHAIRMAN OF FINNISH PARLIAMENT’S COMMITTEE MEETS WITH AZERBAIJAN’S DEPUTY MINISTER FOR INDUSTRY AND ENERGY
Visiting Azerbaijan, Pertti Salolainen, chairman of the Finnish Parliamentary Committee for Foreign Affairs met Friday with Azerbaijan’s Deputy Minister for Industry and Energy Gulmammad Javadov.
Javadov said Azerbaijan-Finland bilateral ties are developing in all fields, and official Baku is interested in expansion of cooperation.
Deputy Minister noted that Azerbaijan as a country ensuring Europe’s energy security cooperates with developed countries to develop hydrocarbon fields, and create the modern infrastructure in this field. It is extremely important for Azerbaijan to learn from Finland’s experience on applying state-of-the-art technologies, using alternative energy sources and safeguarding environment.
Javadov noted that Azerbaijan also pays a special attention to development of the non-energy sector. In accordance with President Ilham Aliyev`s instructions, the draft “Program on Development of Non-Energy Sector in Azerbaijan Republic” has been prepared. It will play a key role in developing this sector of economy.
Salolainen said Finland keeps a close eye on the Azerbaijan`s economic accomplishments achieved over recent years. According to him, President Ilham Aliyev’s visit to Finland scheduled for May this year will play an important role in enhancing economic ties between the two nations.
