CHIEF OF RUSSIAN PRESIDENTIAL ADMINISTRATION AWARDS “HONOR” ORDER TO AZERBAIJAN`S RELIGIOUS LEADER
Baku, November 23 (AZERTAC). Visiting Head of Presidential Administration of the Russian Federation Sergey Naryshkin has presented chairman of the Clerical Office of Caucasus Muslims Allahshukur Pasahzade with “Honor” Order. On the occasion of Pashadeh`s 60th birthday and 30th anniversary of his taking office, Russian President Dmitry Medvedev signed an order to award the order on November 5.
Head of the Azerbaijan Presidential Administration Ramiz Mehdiyev was present at the ceremony.
Sheikhulislam Pashazade said there is deep-rooted historical ties between Azerbaijan and Russia. He recalled with satisfaction the participation of Russian delegation including Patriarch of Moscow and all Russia Kirill. He told of the situation of the Russian Orthodox church, cooperation between Muslims and Christians.
Pashazade highlighted national leader Heydar Aliyev`s contribution to strengthening Russia-Azerbaijan ties and successful continuation of this policy by President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev.
Head of the Russian Presidential Administration Sergey Naryshkin hailed Pashazade`s enlightenment mission, active role in interreligious dialogue and his contribution to strengthening cooperation between the two countries. He expressed satisfaction with tolerance in Azerbaijan and cooperation among religious confessions.
