CO-OP BETWEEN ILO AND ACTU ENHANCING
As was informed, opening the conference, the deputy chairman of ACTU Agil Dadashov dwelt on the measures, undertaken last times by the International Labor Organization in the field of perfection of the work of trade unions in the Republic and protection of labor, socio-economic rights of the laborers. Participants of the Conference were informed on the course of fulfillment of terms of the General Agreement, signed by government of the Republic, National Confederation of Entrepreneurs of Azerbaijan Republic, problems in the field of protection of social rights of the local workers, engaged in transnational companies, and proposals made for their solution.
Speaking at the conference, the coordinator of ICTUO on Declaration of ILO Sandra Vermutten and head of the department for international links of All-Belgium Confederation of liberal trade unions Vera Dos Santos Costa noted that the rights of trade unions are internal part of human rights. They stressed the role which a number of ILO Conventions functioning in the Republic, plays in the social protection of the workers, dwelt on the activity of trade unions in this direction and noted that significance of the Convention in protection of the socio-economic rights of workers.
At the Conference, delivered were lectures on the topics “General information on ILO and its activity in Azerbaijan”, “Transnational companies, realizing activity in the oil and gas industry and basic conventions of ILO”, “Role and tasks of trade unions in the conditions of market economy”, ’”Basic conventions of ILO”, “Convention of ILO and labor legislation of Azerbaijan Republic”, “Place of collective agreement and collective contract in the conventions of ILO” and others.
Participating at the Conference, the coordinator of ICTUO on Declaration of ILO Sandra Vermutten and head of the department for international links of the All-Belgium Confederation of liberal trade unions Vera Dos Santos Costa exchanged views on the topic, answered questions of the oilmen, stressed the necessity of conducting such workshops.
