Competition ‘Your desired future’ of IDEA concluded
Baku, June 6 (AZERTAC). The final round of “Your desired future” ecological multimedia competition was held on 5 June- the World Environment Day.
The competition was organized within “IDEA lectures” project of the IDEA (International Dialogue for Environmental Action) Campaign, which considered holding lectures on ecology and sustainable development at universities.
The competition was organized by the Students Youth Organization of the Public Administration Academy under the President of Azerbaijan Republic.
The first lecture was delivered by Professor Randall Baker of the Michigan University at the Public Administration Academy under the President of Azerbaijan Republic in April.
On 2 May 2012, PhD in biology Mehman Akhundov delivered a scientific lecture on “The problems of the Caspian Sea in the context of sustainable development” at the Azerbaijan University of Languages.
On 3 May 2012, PhD in ecological sciences Firuza Sultanzade delivered a scientific lecture on “Global ecological problems in our modern world” for the students at the Azerbaijan State Economic University.
On 4 May 2012, PhD in chemistry Ulviyya Hasanova spoke on “The role of nanotechnology in addressing the ecological problems of the Caspian Sea” for the students of the Academy of Public Administration under the President of Azerbaijan Republic.
The final round of the competition began with presentations of students. The jury has chosed best 3 projects among them.
Winners were awarded presents and certificates by IDEA.
At the end of the event, a networking hour was held for students in the newly commissioned Resource Centre of the Public Administration Academy. The students familiarized with the work of the centre and brought forth new initiatives.
The IDEA campaign was launched on 11 July 2011 by Vice President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Leyla Aliyeva.
