CONSIDERABLE INCREASE IN EURO FORGERY

Reportedly, the number of false Euro considerably rose in Austrian capital. Some 20 thousand false banknotes were found in Austria in 2003 that is four times more than in 2002. According to the Vienna police, € 7000 false banknotes were withdrawn from circulation last year and 12 000 were confiscated. Countries of Eastern Europe, including Bulgaria, Romania, Lithuania, and republics of the former Yugoslavia are described as sources of the false banknotes.
