COUNCIL OF EUROPE CONFERENCE OF MINISTERS RESPONSIBLE FOR CULTURE WRAPPS UP WITH ADOPTION OF BAKU DECLARATION
The Council of Europe Conference of Ministers responsible for Culture on the theme of “Intercultural dialogue as a basis for peace and sustainable development in Europe and its neighboring regions” wrapped up Wednesday with adoption of the Baku Declaration.
Gabriella Battaini-Dragoni, Director General of Education, Culture and Heritage, Youth and Sport and Coordinator for Intercultural Dialogue of the Council of Europe said the Baku Declaration will allow the member countries and partners to coordinate their activities for intercultural dialogue.
The head of CoE Ministerial Committee from Spain Guillermo Corral Van Damme thanked the Azerbaijani government for its support for holding this conference on a high level. Mr. Van Damme pointed out that the Declaration will give a new impulse to the process of intercultural dialogue.
The conference brought together representatives of 48 countries, including 36 European, 10 Islamic countries and 12 international organizations, including the Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (ALECSO), Islamic International Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (ISESCO), European Commission, and UNESCO.
