DRAFT “ON INTELLIGENCE AND COUNTER-INTELLIGENCE ACTIVITY” DISCUSSED

Regular sitting of the security and defense issues standing committee of the Milli Majlis of Azerbaijan Republic was held on 10 February, AzerTAj correspondent reported.

The Draft is an internal part of the concept on national security. It has been submitted by the head of the Azerbaijani state to the Parliament, Chairman of the Standing Committee, deputy speaker Ziyafet Askerov said. The Draft will regulate the legal issues connected with realization of intelligence and counter-intelligence activity and defines legal provision system for such activities.

The document comprising 6 chapters and 22 clauses was drafted on the base of experience of Russia, Kazakhstan, Ukraine and other countries.

The documents determine subjects of this activity, their powers and links, as well as other aspects. After preliminary discussions, the Draft will be submitted to the Parliament.
