‘Eight sets of medals will be contested at 30th Rhythmic Gymnastics European Championship in Baku’
Baku, April 6 (AZERTAC). “Eight sets of medals will be contested at the 30th Rhythmic Gymnastics European Championship in Baku,” said Vice-President of Azerbaijan Gymnastics Federation (AGF) Altay Hasanov at a press briefing.
Prior to the event, a video reel of the European Championship was demonstrated.
Hasanov noted he believes that the country will host the tournament successfully.
He said that the European Championship, as well as trainings would be held at the newly built National Gymnastics Arena.
Hasanov said 258 gymnasts from 33 countries would vie for medals at the tournament.
President of European Union of gymnastics, Chairman of Technical Committee of European Union of gymnastics Haide Bruneder hailed government’s attention to the sports in Azerbaijan and spoke of the National Gymnastics Arena.
Bruneder said top 5 gymnasts at the groups would earn the right to compete in the Baku 2015 First European Games.
Head coach of the Azerbaijan national team Marina Vasileva gave information about the gymnasts.
Then the web site www.baku2014.agf.az of the European Championship was launched.
Tickets of the tournament will go on sale from April 20.
