Euronews officials tour Sangachal terminal
Baku, January 13 (AZERTAC). Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Euronews TV channel Pier Luigi Malesani and Chief Executive Officer Philippe Cayla have visited the Sangachal Terminal, one of the world’s largest integrated oil and gas processing terminals, as part of their Azerbaijan trip.
Located 45km south of Baku in the Garadag district, the Sangachal Terminal is a vital link in Azerbaijan’s oil and gas industry.
They toured the Caspian Energy Center where he viewed photos depicting the history of the oil industry in Azerbaijan.
The Euronews officials were informed that the terminal covers an area of 730 hectares, and first export of oil from here was achieved in October 1997.
They were given a bus tour of the terminal to view key facilities at the site, which include crude oil storage tanks, oil and gas processing trains, main power generators and pumps and a central control room.
