EXPORT OPERATIONS HIKE

Residents and non-residents of Azerbaijan carried out transactions in the amount of USD 489752,3 thousand with 92 nations in January, 2006, State Customs Committee said. For the same period, 509 items of goods worth $236601,9 have been exported and 2532 items worth $253150,4 thousand imported.

The volume of export operations swelled 116,95 percent in comparison with 2005 while import operations dropped by 56,63 percent. The fall in import operations was driven by low supplies of chemical materials, equipment, technical facilities and railway communications.
