Jabrayil, September 15, AZERTAC
Today a new page opens in the history of the Azerbaijani village of Jojug Marjanly where a bell rang in a local school which opened doors to pupils as residents of the village returned to their land rebuilt on ruins after 24 years.
AZERTAC`s correspondent visited the new settlement on the Day of Knowledge and shared the joy of the villagers.
Resident of Jojug Marjanly Ismail Hagverdiyev says that today is significant not only for the dwellers, but for the entire Azerbaijani people: "When our village was occupied, the Armenians destroyed everything here, including our school. However, in the past 24 years no one has remained without education… Today our village school has opened its doors again."
Pointing at the new school, he says: "Look, how many people have gathered here. Today is a holiday for all here. Indeed it is a return - a return to our education, our future."
The yard of the school is decorated with flags, colorful balls and flowers. It is full of people - residents of the village, guests, teachers, schoolchildren and their parents.
Principal Zamin Khaziev says that the school has 16 teachers and 60 students now, but after the completion of the construction of houses, a total enrollment will increase.
When the school bell rang to sound the start of the new academic year, students and teachers entered the classrooms with flowers in their hands.
We believe that the village of Jojug Marjanly will leave the hard days behind, take the students of this school under its wing and prepare intelligent and well-deserved citizens of Azerbaijan.
