FOREIGN MINISTER OF AZERBAIJAN MET NEW US AMBASSADOR
The Foreign Minister congratulated the Ambassador on his appointment and stressed the relationship between the United States and Azerbaijan is of traditionally friendly character. Mr. Guliyev expressed confidence that the Ambassador would use his diplomatic experience to further strengthen relations between the two countries and intense development of bilateral ties in the sphere of economy, culture, education etc.
Villayat Guliyev updated him on the work being implemented towards the resolution of the Armenian-Azerbaijan, Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, counterterrorism cooperation between Azerbaijan and international organizations.
Ambassador Reno Harnish stated he would not spare his efforts for further strengthening and expanding friendly relations and business ties between the two countries. He emphasized the US highly appreciates Azerbaijan’s participation in the international antiterrorism coalition. Touching upon the Armenian-Azerbaijan conflict over Nagorno-Garabakh, he expressed hope for the soonest peaceful resolution of the problem by joint efforts of the world community.
Then, ambassador gave a copy of his credentials to the Minister.
