JUBILEE OF AZERBAIJAN WRITERS` UNION MARKED IN MOSCOW
Moscow, 23 October (AZERTAC). At the Moscow House of Nationalities, a ceremonial party dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the Union of Azerbaijan Writers (AWU), took place. The ceremony was attended by the renowned Azerbaijani writers, representatives of the literary community of Moscow, men of literature and art, public figures.
Speaking at the event, chairman of AWU Moscow branch Tofig Melikli, Chairman of the AWU Anar spoke of the close cooperation with the Russian men of literature, what, according to them, promotes to establish bridges between the literatures of Azerbaijan and Russia.
On Decree of the Azerbaijan President, the 75th anniversary of Azerbaijan Writers` Union will be marked in Azerbaijan, Anar said. The Decree envisions celebratory events and state support for the Union, he underlined.
Azerbaijan`s ambassador to Russia Polad Bulbuloglu addressed the event with congratulatory remarks.
Speakers noted that Azerbaijan can serve as an example of attitude towards literature and the culture in the whole, underlining necessity of activation of the international ties of the literary associations, the creation of translation centers that would promote expansion of geography and spread of Azerbaijani and Russian literature.
