GOVERNMENT COMMISSION ON CIS ISSUES FOUNDED IN UKRAINE
As is known, President of Ukraine Leonid Kuchma now presides the Council of Heads of Commonweals of Independent States (CIS). AzerTaj’s corresponden reports from Kiev that the Ukrainian Cabinet of Ministers has founded the Government Commission on CIS Issues led by first Vice-Premier of Ukraine, the country’s representative in CIS Economic Council Nikolay Azarov.
The Government Commission on CIS is a permanent coordinating body under the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, responsible for realization of the state policy in the sphere of economic co-operation within the Commonwealth. The new organ will coordinate executive bodies’ activity linked to realization of primary trends of Ukrainian foreign policy on economic co-operation within CIS, provide synchronization of approaches and strategy of this co-operation further development, etc.
The Government Commission will comprise 14 members.
It should be reminded that sitting of the Council of CIS member states’ Heads is scheduled for September 18-19 in Yalta.
