GREEK PREMIER STATED ON READINESS TO SUPPORT OSCE MG CO-CHAIRS TO REACH PEACE ON CAUCASUS
Vienna, 30 October (AZERTAC). “I am going to render personal support t the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs in achieving stable peace on the South Caucasus. I am grateful to the co-chairs, as well as Personal Envoy of the OSCE Chairman-in-office Andzei Kaspshik, for the efforts undertaken for settlement of the Nagorno Karabakh conflict on the basis of mutually accepted decision”, George Papandreou, the Prime Minister of Greece stated at the meeting of OSC Permanent Council in Vienna.
He, further, added that the conflicts impede development of region and are sources of potential tension. “We cannot push them to the backward, and the August war in Georgia proved correctness of such point of view. The people, living in region, suffer from the protracted conflicts. They need peace and stability, but not fragile status-quo”, Mr. Papandreou emphasized.
