Head of CIS observation mission says Azerbaijan presidential election takes place in ‘a calm manner’
Baku, October 9 (AZERTAC). “The presidential election in Azerbaijan is taking place in a calm manner. The observers from CIS member states have recorded no serious violations,’ head of the CIS observation mission, CIS Executive Secretary Sergey Lebedev has told journalists.
“I think good weather conditions play their role. People are in good mood, and this makes us happy.”
Lebedev said he had visited more than 10 polling stations in two days.
“Some 276 observers from the CIS member states are monitoring the voting in the Azerbaijani regions.”
According to Lebedev, the observation mission includes delegates almost from all countries of the Commonwealth, as well as the CIS Inter-parliamentary Assembly.
