Baku, August 26 (AZERTAC). International Dialogue for Environmental Action (IDEA) Campaign will renew an internship program for national and international students in Azerbaijan from September 15. Interns are expected to work five days a week with shift schedule of part time and full time.
IDEA Campaign will issue a certificate to students upon completion of the internship.
The objective of the internship program is to provide a framework by which undergraduate and graduate students from diverse academic backgrounds may be assigned to IDEA office where their educational experience can be enhanced through practical work assignments.
It will allow IDEA to expose them to the work of international environmental campaign which aims to raise awareness among the population on importance of global environmental problems. Internship program will provide IDEA office with the assistance of highly qualified students specialized in various professional fields.
Required Skills are knowledge of MS Office programs, internet navigation and research; demonstrate clear and effective written and verbal communication skills; ability to meet deadlines and maintain a flexible schedule; strong diplomatic skills in dealing with people from a variety of cultures and backgrounds; awareness of and sensitivity to a variety of cultural perspectives; awareness of prominent global and local environmental issues.
Interns should possess or enrolled in a program for a university degree in environment, economy or social sciences, preferably in the field of environmental sciences, international relations and international environmental law.
Applicants should have a good command of English and preferably, knowledge of one of the local languages, Azerbaijani or Russian. National interns should be fluent in Azerbaijani and English.
The intern will assist to staff in the office in research on the topics of interest and execution of day-to-day tasks. In the application period a job description will be submitted to the applicant. The intern may be asked to perform any task indicated in the job description or designated by the supervisor. The intern will be involved to the greatest extent possible in substantive office activities. Interns will be provided with a supervisor who is approachable at any time and will be given all opportunities to acquire deeper insight into the functioning of the IDEA Campaign.
