INFORMATION EXCHANGE BETWEEN CIS MEMBERS IMPROVES
A joint meeting of the Commission of the RF Council of Federations on Information Policy and Committee on CIS Affairs devoted to existing situation and prospects of information exchange within Commonwealth was held on 24 June in Moscow.
The meeting participants pointed out the necessity to intensify the work on establishment of information exchange between SIC states and discussed the measures to increase the role of the Russian language as a tool for international communication. The speakers, however, noted that while establishment of information exchange between CIS countries, it is very important to meet interests of all Commonwealth countries, and Russia should promote no only its own information products but also provide access to those of other countries.
