INTERNATIONAL FIELD HOCKEY TOURNAMENT TO BE HELD IN BAKU –2004
It was announced by President of the European Hockey Federation Alain Danet during his meeting with Minister of Youth, Sports and Tourism Abulfaz Garayev.
A delegation of the EHF has come to this conclusion after being familiarized with sports complexes, hotels, and infrastructure inAzerbaijan, AzerTAj correspondent has learnt from the Ministry’s press-service.
In the course of the meeting, the Minister updated the guests in detail on main stages of sports development in Azerbaijan. ‘For the last years, our country has hosted European championships, World Cups, variety of international tournaments’, he said.
Mr. Danet noted, in his turn, that today, even in the European countries sport complexes are being built not so rapidly as in Azerbaijan. He expressed hope that women’s field hockey team of Azerbaijan, the participant of the European champ qualification tournament would gain a license for next year’s Athens Games.
