INTERNATIONAL USHU TOURNAMENT ENDED IN BAKU
Azerbaijan was represented by 2 teams consisting of 33 sportsmen in all 11 weight classes.
It should be reminded that International Olympic Committee / IOC/ intends to include this kind of sport to the 2008 Olympic games program. Ushu Federation was also created in Azerbaijan and sportsmen attend the championship and tournaments.
On ushu Taolu, sportsmen from Malaysia took the first place, while the Iranian and Chinese teams were the second and third respectively.
On Ushu sanshou, Azerbaijan sportsmen Nijat Huseynov (48kg), Farid Garayev (52kg), Bagraddin Salimov (60kg), Vugar Nasibov (70kg), Hafiz Bakhshaliyev (over 90 kg) became the winners, while Ruslan Musayev, Rashad Guliyev, Rasaf Mehdiyev and Fikrat Rahimov won silver medals.
