IOM BACKS AZERBAIJAN’S POLICY TO STOP HUMAN TRAFFIC
According to head of IOM office in Azerbaijan Joost van der Aalst, International Organization for Migration (IOM) sustains Azerbaijan Government to develop policy aimed at preventing human traffic.
He noted that IOM has been fully backed up by the Government to carry out joint work with the frontier and customs services and AZAL Company aimed at preventing human traffic, in particular, women and children.
Mr. Joost van der Aalst pointed at the three main directions of the IOM activity in Azerbaijan – assistance to the government in developing of the state migration policy, legislative base and creation of the potential for the projects preparation in this sphere.
Mr. Joost van der Aalst stressed that all necessary information of the IOM activities is available at www.iom.int, where anybody can inquire about quarterly and yearly reports on its activity throughout the world.
