A joint meeting of Azerbaijan Defense Ministry Civil Defense Department and NATO Civil Defense Committee /CDC/ started in “Hyyat Regency-Nakhchivan” Hotel on September 10. According to press-service of the Ministry, at a press conference, Chief of the Azerbaijan Civil Defense Department Colonel Javad Gasymov and president of the NATO Civil Defense Committee Peter Veraart described this meeting as a continuation of the two-day Baku seminar on readiness for chemical, biological and radiological attacks and its effect on establishment of regional trust, mentioned its significance and reported on the participating in the event of over 80 representatives from 37 NATO partner countries.

Peter Veraart expressed satisfaction with organizational aspects of the seminars and trainings, which had been conducted in Azerbaijan before, and stressed the importance of the regional co-operation in civil defense.
