JUNIOR ACHIEVEMENT AZERBAIJAN AND PROJECT HARMONY HOLD SCHOOL ECONOMICS EDUCATION PROGRAM'S LEAD TEACH CONFERENCE
JAA executive director Vusal Khanlarov noted JAA is the non-governmental organization set up in 2000. JAA is an implementor of the School Economics Education Program. The USAID-funded program is being implemented in 130 schools. Throughout 2005-2008, JAA will expand to additional 140 schools.
The conference consists of sessions on business and economics education and development of partnerships between schools in Azerbaijan and the United States.
Project Harmony officers will provide the participants with skills for using computers and the Internet to further their professional abilities and enhance their economic classes.
U.S. ambassador to Azerbaijan Reno Harnish spoke of the importance of this program for Azerbaijan’s future and promised to further help in realizing this project.
Education Minister Misir Mardanov pinpointed the expanding relationship with JAA and noted that it is important for the new generation to teach economics.
