Karyakin beats Svidler in third game of World Cup Baku Open final
Baku, October 4, AZERTAC
Russian grandmaster Sergei Karyakin has defeated his counterpart Peter Svidler in the third round of a four-game final at World Cup Baku Open tournament.
Karyakin emerged victorious after the 40th move, with Svidler now leading 2-1.
The fourth game of the encounter will be played later on Sunday.
If the winner is not determined after four games the two will play a tie-break.
