LEGAL PROTECTION OF PLANTS PROVIDES COPYRIGHT PROTECTION
Chairman of the Commission Eldar Ibrahimov said that draft laws “On hunting” and “On cotton-growing” were included into the plan of work. During the autumn session these drafts will be put into discussion of the Parliament. In addition, Commission will discuss draft laws, to be submitted to the Parliament at the legislative initiative of the President of Azerbaijan.
Deputy Chief of the department of economic legislation of MM office - Chief of agrarian legislation section Shakhmardan Karimov gave information on the Agreement. The document had been signed by CIS Government heads in Moscow on March 16, 2001, he said. The Agreement, stipulating increase of production effeciency in agriculture, development of economic, scientific and technological cooperation in the field of selection and seed-farming, will also secure protection of copyright in this field. It means that the author will be given a patent when using sorts of plants of high production kinds of plants in other countries, grown by the scientists of a state. Milli Majlis members and invited guests considered to put all three issues to the discussion of the Parliament.
