Luis Suarez named LaLiga Santander player of the month for December

Barcelona striker Luis Suarez has been chosen as LaLiga Santander's Player of the Month for December, a prize that the league distributes after every month during the season, according to Marca.
The 32-year-old rediscovered his best form prior to the winter break, playing a key role in Barcelona's victories in the Spanish top flight.
Suarez started December by assisting Lionel Messi in the Blaugrana's 1-0 win at the Estadio Wanda Metropolitano, and from there he also showed what he can do himself in front of goal.
In the 5-2 victory against Real Mallorca, the Uruguayan scored and provided an assist before also going on to set up Antoine Griezmann away at Real Sociedad.
Suarez brought December to a close with a dominating display against Alaves, where he scored one and assisted a further three goals.
A total of three goals and six assists reflect a great run that saw Barcelona finish 2019 on top of the table, while he started 2020 with a goal and an assist in the Catalan derby against Espanyol, which ended 2-2.
