The organization of the 13th World Urban Forum in Baku is highly symbolic. Baku embodies modern urban infrastructure and global connectivity, while its historic Old City reflects intercultural relations among civilizations,” said Maryam Nawaz Sharif, Chief Minister of the Punjab Province of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, in her remarks at the WUF13 Leaders’ Statements.
Expressing her gratitude to President Ilham Aliyev for the high-level organization of the event and for his hospitality, she emphasized: “It was truly inspiring to listen to President Ilham Aliyev’s speech. He shared insightful views on sustainable development and sustainable cities. His leadership is transforming Baku and Azerbaijan, turning the country into a dynamic, globally connected hub. Baku is a manifestation of sustainability, transformation, and evolution.”
