MEETING AT THE MINISTRY OF INTERNAL AFFAIRS
PACE Rapporteur Martinez Kassan stressed the importance of replacement of staff in the law enforcement bodies in the Country.
Informing on trainings for students of the Police Academy on human rights protection, Ramil Usubov told that relevant measures are being taken in respect of 231 police officers for forceful treatment with citizens.
Regarding the actions of heads of some oppositional parties, colonel-general Ramil Usubov noted that the law in Azerbaijan is equal for everybody, noting that according to the requirement of President of Azerbaijan the security is provided not for separate party functionaries, but for all citizens.
Andreas Gross and Martinez Kassan thanked Minister Ramil Usubov for the work implemented in realization of the democratic principles and achieved success in the field of combat on crime, provision of human rights and freedoms.
Other issues of mutual importance were discussed and the Minister responded in details the PACE co-rapporteurs.

The same day Minister of Justice of Azerbaijan Fikrat Mammadov received Co-Rappourters of PACE Monitoring Committee on Azerbaijan Andreas Gross and Martinez Kassan. Azerbaijani legislation, court practice, protection of human rights, development of democratic processes and other issues were discussed during the meeting.
