MEETING IN MINISTRY OF NATIONAL SECURITY
Updating the guest in detail on the operational situation in Azerbaijan, Namig Abbasov noted the Ministry of National Security keeps full control over processes taking place in the Republic, takes necessary measures for ensuring stability and security in the country. The Minister stressed the ensuring security of the county’s oil infrastructure including Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan pipeline, is one of the priority directions of the Ministry’s activity, with particular attention paid to obtain preceding information for prevention the projects of this kind from terror actions. He assured the guest that any attempt to destroy state system would be resolutely suppressed: ‘Azerbaijan is a stable country, and no force can violate this stability, he said.’
Having emphasized that he attaches a great significance to the international co-operation in combat against terrorism, Mr. Abbasov dwelt on the relevant protocols signed between Azerbaijan, Georgia and Turkey, as well as multi-sided relations in the framework of the conference of the Chiefs of Turkish speaking states’ Special Services, including efficient bilateral relations with special services of other partner-countries.
Expressing gratitude for the reception, Mr. D. Woodward highly appreciated the efforts by the Ministry of National Security in the sphere ensuring stability and security in Azerbaijan, and noted considerable advance in the sphere of guarding the objects of oil infrastructure including Baku-Tbili-Ceyhan MEP. He especially emphasized the necessity to expand co-operation between ‘bp-Azerbaijan’ and the Ministry of the National Security on concrete spheres.
During the meeting held in the atmosphere of mutual understanding, the parties discussed the prospects of co-operation between ‘bp-Azerbaijan’ and the Ministry of the National Security of Azerbaijan aimed at ensuring high-level security of the oil infrastructure of the country.
