A solemn meeting to mark the beginning of the new academic year and Knowledge Day took place at the Baku State University on September 15. Rector of the University, Prof. Abel Maharramov congratulated the meeting participants on the beginning of the new academic year and Knowledge Day. He stressed that 60% of entrants who had applied for admission to higher education institutions indicated BSU in the first place, and that 3300 people had been admitted to the university. The Rector expressed pride that nationwide leader of Azerbaijan people Heydar Aliyev was BSU graduate, and called on the youth to close ranks around his worthy successor, President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev.

At the end, students who won high scores were given student’s ID.
